Building This Website

I built this website with Claude and Cursor.

I didn't know I was going to move on from Squarespace so soon. I've been dabbling with Claude and wanted to join the HTML club. One day, it just happened.

That's one of the things I find most interesting about AI. It has a way of collapsing the distance between an idea and trying it. You get curious, you experiment, and before you know it, you're doing something you didn't think was possible a week ago.

This is the most authentic website I've ever had.

No templates. No code. Just imagination and a conversation.

Riverside

I find it interesting how Riverside keeps reinventing its interface. Is it getting better? I think so. Sometimes it also feels like they're simply moving things around.

Luckily, it remains intuitive.

I can see why not everyone wants to learn another platform. That's part of why I like to host.

Instead of hosting a dinner party, I'm hosting a conversation.

AI Video

What is AI video?

It can be video generation with the creepy realistic people. It can also be an app that automatically cuts a short clip from a longer conversation.

I often use AI to work with transcripts. It speeds up editing, and seeing the text and chapters makes a linear timeline feel interactive.

AI is built into editing workflows now. I use tools like FireCut, and I get excited about running transcripts through AI to see what patterns it finds.

The tools keep getting better.

Someone still has to decide what makes the cut.

Some ideas in these Field Notes were explored in collaboration with AI. The observations and opinions are my own.
